Method Works designs and builds small-scale crafted timber structures — including saunas, garden studios and cabins — using a blend of modern construction methods and hand finished craft. We focus on thoughtful design, sustainable materials and well-considered details, delivered through a clear and transparent process. We work with you from start to finish. We can offer site and feasibility studies, full design service, and complete or partial builds. We also offer Architectural services.
We are based in the UK, Bristol and primarily work on projects across the UK. If you’re further afield, feel free to get in touch and we can discuss feasibility.
Costs depend on size, complexity and specification. Where possible, we use pre-costed systems to provide clarity early on cost. For more bespoke work, we focus on transparent pricing and clear scopes, so you know exactly what you’re paying for and why.
Our work sits between product and bespoke. At present, we offer one sauna design, developed as a pre-designed, pre-costed system to ensure clarity on quality, cost and delivery. If this design suits your needs, we’ll start from there. If it doesn’t, we can adapt the existing design or develop a new solution from scratch, using the same modular, design-led approach. As for cabins and studios these are currently offered through a bespoke service.

We provide a clear electrical brief, including drawings and a fixed scope, so the electrician can price accurately and work seamlessly with the build.
We prioritise natural, durable and low-impact materials, particularly timber. Our approach emphasises:
Material choices are guided by performance, environmental impact, cost and aesthetics. Where possible, we prioritise locally sourced materials to reduce environmental impact and support regional supply chains.
Yes. Much of our work is prefabricated off-site, which allows fabrication to continue year-round. Installation is scheduled around weather conditions and site access to ensure quality and safety.
We aim to minimise disruption. Off-site fabrication reduces time on site, and we plan delivery and installation carefully. We’ll explain what to expect in advance so there are no surprises.
